Wind Powered Google Servers?

According to Datacenterknowlege, Google’s new subsidiary, Google Energy may help the internet-giant to use wind power in its datacenters.

The new subsidiary is formed with the purpose of trading with energy on the wholesale market, but right know they are thinking about greening Google. The percentage of the future green energy usage is unknown, as most of the details.

The details are not clear, because Google has contracts with utility companies, therefor  they can’t just go green as a blink of an eye.

This decision affirms that green web hosting is very important. According to one study, if the hosting companies do not go green, in a couple of years the traffic of the internet can be as polluting as the traffic of the airplanes!
